Another example of society’s control is the push in some Asian/Middle Eastern countries for a family†s first child to be male. Even when there is no government regulation many cultures push for your first child to be male. This forces families to abort females and even murder them once they have been born. Once again this is a society/cultural push not a mandated rule. These instances are what different societies have created for themselves, when included in one of these societies it is hard to say whether it is right or wrong. I will first address the aspect that government should not control family size. First of all, it is a natural and religious right to produce offspring. Breed, multiply and populate has been the belief since the beginning of time. The idea is to grow population so that our beliefs and way of life may be spread and passed on. Who is government to take these right away? Governmental control over family size goes against everything that the USA stands for. This would be an age-old idea called freedom. When a government starts dictating the kind and size of family a person can have. Almost all freedom is lost. Another topic briefly addressed above is the aborting and murdering of babies that aren†t male. A first hand example of this is China. China regulates or gives incentives to families that only produce one child. This is where the problem begins because most families want this child to be male. Male children are providers and will go out and join the working world. They will be â€Å"successful†. Many female babies are aborted once sex is determined. If sex is not determined before birth, once born many female babies are abandoned or destroyed. This showing the cruelty that government controlled family size will push people to. Government should control family size because in most instances the general population cannot handle this for themselves. A prime example of this is our already over crowded inner cities. People with chemical addictions and no financial means are cranking out babies right and left. They have no means of providing for all of these children. Government currently provides for these under privileged children, that as cruel as it sounds, should not have been born. I have had a first hand example of this problem. A family friend in another state has adopted three crack babies from the same mother; this mother is also on welfare. This certain mother is by no means an exception. China is another example of why government needs to control population. Look at the current problems that they are faced with because in previous years they have done nothing. Left uncontrolled, population will snowball out of control. Government needs to be aware of the ever -increasing population growth problem. I believe that rather that mandating how many children a family can have. They should educate its population on different means of birth control and possibly start providing for free. Especially in this country a harsher penalties needs to be imposed for chemical dependent mothers that become baby factories. This is leading to biased statistics that spreads the idea that spanking is a bad thing. Polls show that the use of some light physical punishment is acceptable to most people. However less people are admitting to spanking their children. Dr. Robert Murray, a professional in the medical field, says the social disapproval surrounding spanking is healthy. â€Å"When there was a social norm of spanking, it shielded abuse,† he says. This being possible because parents don’t want to admit to spanking, that means that they are less likely to do it. The possibility that is most striking is that the parents casually punishing their kids may be in for some legal activity in the form of child abuse lawsuits. Many people still believe that it is perfectly normal to spank a child lightly and with good discipline procedures. This is most probably correct because polls show that most people would discipline their children physically in â€Å"self-control†. A sociologist named Murray Straus who’s been studying the corporal punishment found out that kids who were spanked, or had any physical punishment had a five-point lower IQ score. There was also a study that Straus took to the United States, he evaluated numbers of children between the ages of 2-9 who were spanked and not spanked. Then later on he found out that those kids who were not spanked scored better on achievement test then those who were spanked. The problem with spanking is that many parents believe it is the only way to make kids listen and change their behavior. Dessigner states, â€Å"Despite its common acceptance, spanking is a less effective strategy than timeout or removal of privileges for reducing undesired behavior in children. † In other words, spanking is only going to stop the child from misbehaving at that very moment it isn’t going to stop them from misbehaving all the time, so then that is when spanking becomes familiar with the parent and child. I strongly consider that spanking is not necessary, at all. As a child growing up, I’ve been spanked here and there. I think we all have been but there are other ways other than laying a hand on your child. However, Spanking can lead to abuse which is very common, especially in a child lives. The main problem with spanking is that it may increase the child’s belief that violence is a good way to solve problems or the spanking will instill the child with feelings of rebelliousness and anger towards the parent. I believe that if parents will use spanking as a discipline method they should first include right learning with love before and after the spanking. Several people believe that a quick will send their child a clear message and is powerful discipline when included with loving comments. I disagree that disciplining a child with spanking is all right when nothing else will work, or when the parent has had enough. This could lead to abuse and/or psychosocially damaging discipline periods. Unfortunately, lots of parents have inherited unwise discipline methods that rely too much on force and not on proper approach. Cloud computing will help the group save money in the long run, and to be more productive when documentations are done within a faster period. And also provide employees with a greater IT environment with always getting the most updated software in the market. With cloud computing, the aim is to hide the complexity of IT infrastructure management from its users. At the same time, cloud computing platforms provide massive scalability, reliability, high performance, and specifiable configurability. These capabilities are provided at relatively low costs compared to dedicated infrastructures. Cloud computing is making it possible to separate the process of building an infrastructure for service provisioning from the business of providing end user services. It will cut complexity, improve flexibility and make IT more strategic to business there is a misconception about the cloud that the Cloud is cheaper than traditional IT. Little Women - Movie vs. Book According to the Internet Movie Database's exhaustive records, Louisa May Alcott's novel "Little Women" has seen itself recreated in four TV series, four made for TV movies and five feature length movies since 1918. The most recent version appeared in 1994 and features Winona Ryder, Claire Danes, Kirsten Dunst, Samantha Mathis, Eric Stoltz, Susan Sarandon, and Gabriel Byrne. As a long time fan of the novel, who has happily carted her large leather bound gold-gilded unabridged edition whenever she has moved, I find that I was disappointed in this newest movie version. As a movie lover, however, I found the movie to be an enjoyable experience. The decision of the screenwriter and director to cut out what I felt were several story arcs and scenes from the novel was very disappointing. For example, in the movie there is no mention of Beth's shyness, or of her overcoming that shyness to become friends with Mr. Lawrence. The scene in the novel where she gathers her courage to walk over to his house and thank him for giving her his piano is one of the most defining moments for Beth. Overall I found Beth and Mr. Lawrence to both be sadly underdeveloped in the movie. Mr. Lawrence appears in only three scenes, while many of Beth's key moments also vanished. Jo's wonderful tomboyish nature is also severely tone-down for this version. She does not say "Christopher Columbus"; nor any of her other slang words. We never see the scene where she longs to go be a soldier fighting in the war and wishes she were a man. They transformed the character of Meg from someone who longs for finer things and tends to be snobbish into the wise older sister who does not care about such things. Lacking is the wonderful moment when she realizes that she does not care about Mr. Brook's poverty as she staunchly defends her love of him against Aunt March. While Amy's quest for a perfect nose is mentioned twice, there is never a scene showing some of her efforts such as her wearing the clothespin on it at night to make is straight, nor do we get enjoy watching her artistic endeavors such as her attempts to make a plaster cast of her foot.
